The punishment has come in the form of his license being revoked by the CSAC and a financial penalty of $205,000.
Those from within the MMA community have shared their reaction to the news, starting with the man who was punished in Jon Jones:
I want to thank csac for taking the time and hearing my case, and executive officer Andy Foster for saying he believes me.— Jon Bones Jones (@JonnyBones) February 27, 2018
Jon Jones' entire case is built on the "you guys gotta believe me!" Defense. And while a lot of his arguments make logical sense, no commission can keep its authority if it just decides to take his word vs. the test.— Sean O'Connell (@realOCsports) February 27, 2018
DC’s will probably retire before Jones comes out of suspension. So who takes over the division necause it looks like everyone is beating everyone!?— Gerald Harris (@GHurricane) February 27, 2018
look, I know there's this whole other guy, but it's impossible to suppress the reflexive terror at seeing the headline "CALIFORNIA FINES JON JONES $205,000"— Jon Jones (@jonjones) February 27, 2018
While the CSAC portion of the punishment is complete, a suspended Jones now has to wait to see what kind of punishment will get handed out by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).
