The lineup for the tournament has yet to be announced, although MTK promised that there will be “titleholders and world-ranked stars from all over the world.” As for the schedule, the quarterfinal bouts will take place in October and November, the semifinals in February and March 2020 and the finals in May and June 2020.
Another surprising twist to this tournament is the fact that no one competing will know their opponent until fight week in the opening round. As far as the titleholders that may be in the tournament, those titles will also be on the line, though it’s highly unlikely any world champions would compete in the tournament and the titleholders are more likely to be regional champions.
According to MTK Global President Bob Yalen, the tournament fights will be broadcast on ESPN+ in the United States through its broadcast partnership with Top Rank Boxing.
