NAC Approves Upcoming UFC & Top Rank Boxing Cards

It took all but fifteen minutes for the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) to meet and approve upcoming events in the state of Nevada for both the UFC and Top Rank Boxing. The commission, which all met over the phone via conference call, voted unanimously to approve the UFC and Top Rank Boxing’s events.

MMA Junkie reports that the commission approved this weekend's UFC Fight Night: Woodley vs. Burns card and next weekend’s UFC 250 card. The NAC also approved two upcoming events for Top Rank Boxing, but the dates for those cards weren’t revealed at this time.

Other UFC events are scheduled for June 13, June 20 and June 27, but those cards weren’t approved by the NAC at this time because they weren’t on the agenda. NAC Executive Director Bob Bennett says that the UFC’s coronavirus protocols closely resemble the commission’s protocols.

This weekend’s UFC Fight Night Woodley vs. Burns event is headlined by former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley and Gilbert Burns, while UFC 250 is headlined by two division UFC champion Amanda Nunes defending the women’s featherweight title against Felicia Spencer

The state of Nevada is currently in Phase 1 of their reopening plan, while Phase 2 is expected to kick off this Friday.
