- According to Mike Coppinger, the WBC set out a purse date of January 21 for a WBC bantamweight title fight between Nordine Oubaali and Nonito Donaire.

- Eleider Alvarez, Michael Seals and Felix Verdejo take time out of their fight week schedule for a special session of "Train with the Champs" at the Oneida Indian Nation Recreation Center. A group of local children were on hand for this special meet-and-greet as Alvarez, Seals and Verdejo shared their journeys and gave the children some boxing lessons.
- The next edition of Golden Boy Promotions' Thursday Night Fights series will take place on January 23 and will be headlined by Jason Quigley vs. Oscar Cortes. The card will be streamed on DAZN and on Facebook Watch.
