Tyson Fury Reveals He Will Be Fighting In September

Although Tyson Fury is focused on his upcoming Top Rank debut against Tom Schwarz this summer, the British star already has a second fight date set.

In an interview with BT Sport Boxing, Fury spoke about a number of topics, including his future fighting for Top Rank Boxing and how active he will be in the coming months. When he mentioned his current schedule, Fury revealed that he will be fighting three times in a six-month span with the second fight date taking place in September.

"I've been given dates and [September 28] is the next date. For the next six months, I'm going to be active. I've got three dates," Fury said.

As for his current fight against Schwarz, Fury could potentially put himself in position to be high up in the rankings of a couple of governing bodies with a win on June 15 in Las Vegas. Although a win over Schwarz could potentially put him in the top two in the WBO rankings and in the top 10 in the WBA rankings, Fury added that he is not concerned with competing for any of the major alphabet titles and believes his lineal heavyweight title carries enough prestige on its own.

"To be brutally honest, all them belts and organization things, I'm very unconcerned with them. They mean nothing to me. Tom Schwarz is rated above me [in the the WBO rankings]. He's No. 2 and I'm No. 4. The rankings to me are unimportant. I'm the lineal champion. I got the status going back hundreds of years. The belts mean nothing to me," Fury said.

The unbeaten Fury would go on to add that fight for mandatory spots for titles also don't mean much to him, saying "I'm above all that. The Gypsy King fights who he wants, when he wants, how he wants."

Fury vs. Schwarz will headline a Top Rank Boxing card from the MGM Grand Garden Arena that will be streamed on ESPN+. The full interview can be seen in the video at the top of the page.
