One Championship expanded to Japan with a hugely successful event earlier this year, featuring top MMA names like Demetrious Johnson, Eddie Alvarez, Shinya Aoki and others.
The promotion is starting to expand more internationally, as One CEO Chatri Sityodtong recently announced that offices would be opening in the United States.
That announcement was made via Twitter:
BREAKING NEWS: ONE Championship will be opening offices in the US this summer! We are hiring aggressively across all job functions in LA and NYC. We also currently have job openings at our offices in Singapore, Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing, Manila, Jakarta, Bangkok, and Bangalore. pic.twitter.com/x4XhAoj1YZ— Chatri Sityodtong (@yodchatri) June 4, 2019
Sityodtong, in an interview with the Associated Press, announced that there is going to be a One Championship event in America next year.
“We definitely want to make a big splash in the U.S. and we believe that we have the right product, the right brand and the right values with the right heroes and stories to (do so),” Sityodtong told CBS Sports.
There has been no date given at this time as to when the debut in America will happen or which talent will appear on the card.
