One Fight Pulled, One Fight Added To Bellator 169

This Friday Night’s Bellator 169 card has undergone a change as a women’s bout between Bruna Vargas and Helen Harper has been pulled from the card after Vargas suffered an arm injury.

A last minute fight has been added to the card as Sinead Kavanagh takes on Elina Kallionidou in a women’s featherweight division fight.

Kavanagh (3-0-0) will be making her Bellator MMA debut in this fight, having previously spent her entire career in the BAMMA promotion. In those three fights in the BAMMA promotion, Kavanagh has defeated Katarzyna Sadura, Zarah Fairn Dos Santos and Hatice Ozyurt. Kavanagh also fought five times as an amateur, where she defeated UFC veteran Anna Elmose in her amateur MMA debut.

Kallionidou (5-0-0) will also be making her Bellator MMA debut in this fight and she is the current Cage Survivor Women’s Featherweight Champion. Kallionidou actually won a four woman tournament to win the aforementioned title, she defeated both Roxane Teixeira and Foteini Kromida in that tournament. Kallionidou has also defended the championship once, defeating Dora Kalpakidou at Cage Survivor 5, she won the fight by first round TKO.

Bellator 169 takes place on Friday, December 16 from the 3 Arena in Dublin, Ireland with King Mo and Satoshi Ishii headlining.
