UFC on Fox 22 has it's main event. Paige Vanzant will take on Michelle Waterson in a top-15 strawweight fight.
VanZant (7-2-0) has won four of five fights under the UFC banner, with notable wins coming over Be Rawlings and Felice Herrig. VanZant will be headlining her second UFC event, her first main event appearance was a loss to Rose Namajunas at UFC Fight Night 80 in December 2015. VanZant will also have the home field advantage in this fight, as the event will be taking place in her hometown in Sacramento, California.
Waterson (13-4-0) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, having defeated Angela Magana at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 21 Finale. Waterson is also a former Invicta Fighting Championships Atomweight Champion, she defended the championship once before losing it. Waterson will also be competing for the first time in fifteen months, which is the longest layoff of her career other than her pregnancy in 2010.
The only other fight announced for the card at this time is a welterweight division fight that will see Mickey Gall take on Sage Northcutt.
UFC On Fox 22 takes place on Saturday, December 17th from the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California with Paige VanZant and Michelle Waterson in the main event.
