Patricio Pitbull Defends Featherweight Title Against Daniel Weichel In Bellator 203 Main Event

The main event has been set for the upcoming Bellator 203 card and it is going to be for the featherweight title as Patricio Pitbull defends against Daniel Weichel.

Pitbull (26-4-0) won the initial meeting between the two at Bellator 138 and that win came by way of second round knockout. Pitbull won the title for a second time back at Bellator 178, defeating Daniel Straus by second round submission. Pitbull has suffered a total of four losses as a professional MMA fighter, with all four coming to past champions in both the UFC and Bellator MMA.

Weichel (39-9-0) has been undefeated since that first loss to Pitbull, last defeating John Teixeira by split decision at Bellator 177. Weichel has suffered nine losses as a pro MMA fighter, with eight of those defeats coming by either KO/TKO or by way of submission. Weichel has suffered just a single defeat in Bellator MMA competition, which was the aforementioned first fight against Pitbull.

In the co-main event of the evening, it is going to be UFC veteran Alessio Sakara (19-12-0) taking on Jamie Sloane (8-3), who is making his Bellator MMA debut.

Bellator 203 takes place on Saturday, July 14 from the Il Centrale Live in Rome, Italy with Patricio Pitbull and Daniel Weichel headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs via tape delay on the Paramount Network.
