Patricio Pitbull Would Give Up Bellator Lightweight Title Under One Condition: "Only If He's Involved"

Patricio Pitbull currently holds two titles in Bellator but he would consider giving up one under a very specific circumstance.

Patricio is currently living lavish as the reigning Bellator lightweight and featherweight champion. While Pitbull has no plans to relinquish either title, there is one way that he could be convinced to give up the lightweight gold and it involves his brother, Patricky Pitbull

“Only if he’s involved (in the vacant title fight),” Pitbull said to MMA Fighting. “There’s no other possibility of me vacating the belt. If there’s any other challenger, I’d fight. To take the belt from me (under other circumstances), it would have to be by force. I’ve already volunteered to fight and the company said, ‘No, you’ll have to finish the 145-pound grand prix first.’ Winning that belt was really hard so I wouldn’t accept it (vacating it). If they put my brother in a title fight, then I’d do it. I’ve already told them I would vacate the title so the division can move.”

Pitbull is currently participating in the Bellator Featherweight World Grand Prix and he hasn’t defended the lightweight title at all since winning it at Bellator 221. The cham-champ also revealed to MMA Fighting that his postponed Grand Prix bout against Pedro Carvalho could happen in October or November of this year.
