Paul Daley Says Bout Against MVP Makes Grand Prix More Compelling

Paul Daley and Michael Page will headline Bellator 216, which will also serve as an opening round bout in the Bellator Welterweight World Grand Prix.

The welterweight slugger believes that his encounter with Page is going to make the grand prix a whole lot more compelling than it would've been without the duo in the tournament.

“If this fight wasn’t made in the tournament, the tournament wouldn’t be half as interesting, in my opinion,” Daley said to MMA Junkie.

Daley and Page have been at each other for a while now, even having a pull apart scuffle after the main event of Bellator 179.

No matter how their fight ends at Bellator 216, expect Daley to show his opponent some respect once its all said and done.

“I would always be respectful, especially when someone is in a bad way,” Daley said. “I’d be happy to say, ‘Well done. It just wasn’t your day.’ But I’m just happy to be involved in the fight.”

Bellator 216 takes place on Saturday, February 16 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Paul Daley and Michael Page headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on DAZN.
