Paul Felder Talks About The Loss Of His Father

MMA

Paul Felder competed at UFC Fight Night: Glasgow and earned a TKO victory over Stevie Ray, it was the first time Ray has been finished as a pro.

Felder’s father passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer just before his son started training camp for the Ray fight. Felder would be the first to admit that the passing of his father has really yet to set in on him.

“I guess this is one that really hasn’t set in, just like him passing away,” said Felder after the event. “I had the athlete retreat, I had my fight camp, so I went to Vegas and I came home. I was with my family for about four or five days and then I was at Roufusport right away for seven weeks, living in the gym and training. I don’t think I’ve had a chance for anything to really set in.”

The lightweight fighter isn’t heading home just yet, because he went to Las Vegas to provide color commentary on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contenders Series: Episode 2.

However, once he is done with the show, then the fighter will head home to be with his family.

“I can’t wait to go home now,” Felder said. “On Tuesday I’ve got to film [Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series] and then I can go and spend some time with my family, and my Mom. I think I’ll just take a week to miss my Dad.”

Now that Felder has gotten the win over Ray, the fighter has now earned victories in four of his last five fights in the UFC.
