Paulie Malignaggi Wants To Beat Up Conor McGregor In A Boxing Match

Former world champion boxer Paulie Malignaggi said he would step up to the plate and face Conor McGregor in a boxing match.

In a video posted on his Twitter account, Malignaggi said he would love to make McGregor humble. McGregor recently became a two-division UFC Champion at UFC 205 by knocking out Eddie Alvarez.

"I have been hearing a lot about this Conor McGregor situation and I got to thinking -- you know what? - I am kind of interested," Malignaggi said. "At first I was telling Conor to stay in his lane and I was thinking you are going to embarrass yourself, but if you are really going to disrespect the sport of boxing like that then I would like to be the one to teach you that lesson."

McGregor recently obtained a boxing license in the state of California in his latest attempt to goad former world champion Floyd Mayweather, who is adamant about staying retired, but has also flirted with a possible Conor McGregor fight.

Malignaggi is a former IBF light welterweight champion and a former WBA welterweight champion and has an impressive list of opponents that he has faced. Malignaggi has faced the likes of Miguel Cotto, Amir Khan, Shawn Porter, Adrien Broner, Zab Judah, Ricky Hatton, Danny Garcia and Juan Diaz.

Since losing to Danny Garcia in August 2015, the 34-year-old had won his last three fights, defeating Gabriel Bracero in his most recent fight back in July. Malignaggi also serves as a boxing analyst for Showtime's boxing broadcasts.
