Israel Adesanya defeated Kelvin Gastelum by unanimous decision in the co-main event of UFC 236 to become the UFC Interim Middleweight Champion.
Paulo Costa saw what happened at UFC 236 and apparently wasn?t very impressed by what happened this past Saturday Night.
Costa would take to Instagram to call Adesanya a fake champion:
Adesanya is set for a title unification bout against UFC Middleweight Champion Robert Whittaker later this year, as Whittaker just returned to training after having emergency surgery to repair an abdominal issue that forced that champ off UFC 234.
The middleweight contender hasn?t competed since a victory over Uriah Hall at UFC 226 and doesn?t have another bout scheduled at this time.
