Former Bellator MMA Light Heavyweight Champion Phil Davis now has an opponent for the upcoming Bellator 186 card and it comes in the former of Leonardo Leite.
Combate was the first to break the story.
Davis (17-4-0-1NC) is competing for the first time since losing the Bellator MMA Light Heavyweight Title to Ryan Bader at Bellator 180. Davis also won a one night tournament at Bellator 142 in September 2015, defeating Emmanuel Newton and Francis Carmont to win the tourney. Davis first became the Bellator MMA Light Heavyweight Champion at Bellator 163 when he defeated Liam McGeary by unanimous decision.
Leite (10-0-0) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and his undefeated streak has lasted well over four years. Leite was a dual title holder in the Legacy Fighting Championships, holding the promotion’s heavyweight and light heavyweight titles. Leite is also returning to action for the first time in almost a year, with his last bout coming against Moise Rimbon in November of 2016.
Bellator 186 takes place on Friday, Saturday November 3 from the Bryce Jordan Center in University Park, Pennsylvania with Ryan Bader and Linton Vassell headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Spike TV.
