The bad blood between WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew and heavyweight David Haye could result in a fight between the two British rivals, according to Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn.
Hearn recently spoke to Fighthype.com and said he wishes to make a fight between Bellew and Haye. Hearn also has plans for Haye to have a world title shot in the future. Despite Bellew being a world champion in boxing's cruiserweight division, he would be willing to move up to heavyweight in order to fight Haye.
"I think Haye will go down the WBO route and look to get the winner of Andy Ruiz vs. Joseph Parker [for the vacant WBO heavyweight title on December 10], which is a good fight," Hearn said. "We?ll try and make the Bellew fight with David Haye in January or February next year. If he wins that, he?ll go and fight the winner of Parker-Ruiz in April."
The feud reached a fever pitch last month after Bellew retained his title against BJ Flores. Bellew nearly went outside the ring, pointed to where Haye was located and roared at him "I'm the champion," among other comments towards Haye as security tried to separate the two boxers.
