Former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos lost the title to Eddie Alvarez by first round TKO at UFC Fight Night 90.
The former champion has now admitted that he passed out before that bout at UFC Fight Night 90.
"I passed out in the bathtub, in the hot tub. I was out for like almost three minutes,” Dos Anjos said on The MMA Hour. "My coaches were about to call 911 and cancel the fight because I was out on my bed, and they put some ice on my chest, and then I woke up and stayed on my bed for one hour.”
Despite the horror of passing out before the fight, in the end, the fighter does see a silver lining to everything that happened to him.
"I said man, God makes everything the right time,” Dos Anjos said. "Maybe if I won that fight, I'd still be killing myself to make 155. Then I lost two in a row and I decided to change, but after the fight I knew.”
RDA will be making his welterweight division debut at UFC Fight Night 111 against former Strikeforce Welterweight Champion Tarec Saffiedine.
UFC Fight Night 111 takes place on Saturday, June 17 from the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore with Bethe Correia and Holly Holm headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event.
