Yancy Medeiros has suffered an injury and has been pulled from this month’s UFC On Fox 23 card, replacing him against Li Jingliang will be Bobby Nash.
Jingliang (11-4-0) has rotated wins and losses thus far throughout his UFC run, defeating David Michaud, Shiego Lima and Anton Zafir, while suffering defeats to Nordine Taleb and Keita Nakamura. JIngliang is a longtime veteran of the Legends Fighting Championships, he earned wins in five of seven fights in the promotion. It has been well over two years since Jingliang last put a winning streak together, the last one lasted from 2012 to 2014 and it was three fights long.
Nash (8-1-0) will be making his UFC debut in this fight, but he does hold a victory over UFC veteran Lewis Gonzalez. Nash will enter the promotion on the strength of a six fight winning streak. His lone loss was suffered in his second MMA fight, which happened in 2015. Nash did hold two championships as an amateur, as he held both the Genesis FC and Total Warrior Combat Welterweight Titles.
UFC On Fox 23 takes place on Saturday, January 28 from the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado with Juliana Pena and Valentina Shevchenko headlining.
