A women’s flyweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 225 according to MMA Junkie as Alejandra Lara is going to be in action against Taylor Turner.
Lara (7-3-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the duo of Ilima-Lei Macfarlane and Juliana Velasquez. Lara has previously challenged for the Bellator MMA Women’s Flyweight Title, losing to the aforementioned Macfarlane at Bellator 201. Lara has competed ten times as a professional MMA fighter and just three of those encounters went the distance.
Turner (2-4-0) is undefeated thus far under the Bellator MMA banner, having defeated Heather Hardy by first round TKO at Bellator 222. Turner’s only other victory as a professional MMA fighter came against Katelyn Dykas at Valor Fights 16 in November of 2014. Turner has competed six times as a professional MMA fighter and none of her bouts have gone past the second round.
Bellator 225 takes place on Saturday, August 24 from the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut with Matt Mitrione and Sergei Kharitonov headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
