Report: Alessio Sakara Faces Kent Kauppinen In Bellator 211 Main Event

The main event is set for Bellator 211 according to MMA Junkie as Alessio Sakara is going to be in action against Kent Kauppinen.

Sakara (20-12-0-2NC) has won three of four under the Bellator MMA banner, with those victories coming over the trio of Brian Rogers, Joey Beltran and Jamie Sloane. Sakara has challenged for the Bellator MMA Middleweight Title, losing to then champion Rafael Carvalho at Bellator 190. Sakara also won six of fifteen bouts in the UFC, with notable wins coming over Elvis Sinosic, James Irvin and Thales Leites.

Kauppinen (10-4-0) is currently winless under the Bellator MMA banner, having dropped a bout to Walter Gahadza via second round submission at Bellator 200. Kauppinen hasn’t picked up a victory in just about a year, with that last win coming over Shaun Lomas at Raged UK MMA 7. Kauppinen is fighting a UFC veteran for the first time in his professional MMA career, which has lasted just over nine years now.

Bellator 211 takes place on Saturday, December 1 from the RDS Stadium in Genoa, Italy with Alessio Sakara and Kent Kauppinen headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
