Shawna Ram has been pulled from the upcoming Rizin 19 card due to suffering a concussion according to MMA Fighting, replacing her against Rena Kubota is Alexandra Alvare.
Kubota (8-3-0) has rotated wins and losses in her last six MMA bouts, with the latest fight being a first round submission loss to Lindsey VanZandt at Bellator 222. Kubota has spent the majority of her professional MMA career competing in Rizin, scoring notable victories over Miyuu Yamamoto, Andy Nguyen and Samantha Jean-Francois. Kubota has picked up eight wins as a professional MMA fighter and half of them have come by way of KO/TKO.
Alvare (0-2-0) is winless thus far as a professional MMA fighter, having dropped bouts to the duo of Claire Lopez and Maria Gonzalez. Alvare also went winless as an amateur MMA fighter, losing to Zejna Krantic in October of 2016. Alvare has suffered the aforementioned two losses as a professional MMA fighter and both defeats came by way of KO/TKO.
Rizin 19 takes place on Saturday, October 12 from the Edion Arena in Osaka, Japan with Jiri Prochazka and Fabio Maldonado headlining. Fightful will provide quick results once the event concludes and it streams live on Fite TV.
