Report: Andre Fili Faces Michael Johnson At UFC Fight Night Lincoln


A featherweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Lincoln according to the Lincoln Journal Star as Andre Fili faces Michael Johnson.

Fili (18-5-0) will enter the contest on the strength of a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Artem Lobov and Dennis Bermudez. Fili has since his last four UFC bouts go the distance and it has been over two years since the fighter got a finish. Fili has previously challenged for the Rebel Fighter Featherweight Title, suffering a fifth round TKO loss to Derrick Burnsed in October of 2010.

Johnson (17-13-0) is currently winless since dropping to featherweight, having lost to Darren Elkins via second round submission at UFC Fight Night St. Louis. Johnson had previously competed as a lightweight in the UFC, earning a record of 9-8-0 in that weight class. Johnson also made it to the finals of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 12, but lost to Jonathan Brookins in that final fight.

UFC Fight Night Lincoln takes place on Saturday, August 25 from the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska with Justin Gaethje and James Vick headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
