Report: Aniah Blanchard “Went For The Gun” During Kidnapping

Aniah Blanchard, who is the stepdaughter of UFC fighter Walt Harris, was kidnapped by Ibraheem Yazeed on October 23 and her body was discovered a few days before Thanksgiving on November 25

Documents obtained by the Montgomery Advertiser state that Blanchard “went for the gun” before ultimately being shot and killed by Yazeed.

“The subject further advised during a subsequent conversation with Yazeed, Yazeed admitted to shooting a girl, and stated the girl ‘went for the gun,'” according to the documents.

Evidence discovered in Blanchard’s vehicle had shown that Blanchard had suffered a life threatening injury during the kidnapping.

Lee County District Attorney Brandon Hughes promises that the process of getting justice for Blanchard will not be swift, but is going to be thorough.

“The process of seeing justice done for Aniah and her family will not be swift, but I can promise it will be thorough,” Hughes said during a news conference.

Blanchard was just 19 years old at the time of her passing, a celebration of Blanchar’s life is taking place on Saturday, December 21.
