Report: Ariane Carnelossi Replaces Ashlee Evans-Smith At UFC Fight Night Uruguay

Ashlee Evans-Smith has been pulled from a bout against Taila Santos at UFC Fight Night Uruguay according to MMA Fighting, accepting the short notice opportunity is Ariane Carnelossi.

Santos (15-1-0) is currently winless under the UFC banner, dropping a bout to Mara Romero Borella at UFC Fight Night Fortaleza. Santos competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Brazil Episode 2, defeating Estefani Almeida by unanimous decision. Santos has picked up fifteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and eleven of them came via first round finish.

Carnelossi (12-1-0) is going to be making her UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a twelve fight winning streak. Carnelossi has picked up twelve wins as a professional MMA fighter and eight of those victories came by way of KO/TKO. Carnelossi has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that loss came to Amanda Ribas at Pentagon Combat 20 in September of 2014.

UFC Fight Night Uruguay takes place on Saturday, August 10 from the Antel Arena in Montevideo, Uruguay with Valentina Shevchenko and Liz Carmouche headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
