A featherweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 226 according to WHOA TV as Ashleigh Grimshaw is going to be in action against John Teixeira.
Grimshaw (20-10-1-3NC) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a four fight winning streak. Grimshaw is also going to be competing for the first time in over a year, with his last encounter taking place on April of 2018. Grimshaw has picked up twenty wins as a professional MMA fighter, with eighteen of those victories coming by KO/TKO and submission.
Teixeira (22-4-2) has won just one of his last four under the Bellator MMA banner, with that lone win coming against Kevin Croom at Bellator 218. Teixeira has lost three of five in Bellator MMA, with those losses coming to those who have either challenged for or held the Bellator MMA Featherweight Title. Teixeira competed once in the UFC, which was a split decision loss to Hugo Viana at UFC 147 in June of 2012.
Bellator 226 takes place on Saturday, September 7 from the SAP Center in San Jose, California with Ryan Bader and Cheick Kongo headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on DAZN.
