A women’s bantamweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Columbus as #2 Aspen Ladd is in action against #4 Julianna Pena.
Brett Okamoto of ESPN first reported the bout, but its placement on the card isn’t known at the moment.
Ladd (9-1-0) has won four of five under the UFC banner, with those victories coming over Lina Lansberg, Tonya Evinger, Sijara Eubanks and Yana Kunitskaya. Ladd has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Germaine De Randamie in the main event of UFC Fight Night Sacramento. Ladd has competed a total of ten times as a professional MMA fighter and just two of those bouts went the distance.
Pena (9-3-0) has won five of six in the UFC, with notable wins coming over Jessica Eye, Cat Zingano and Nicco Montano. Pena was also the winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 18, defeating Jessica Rakoczy in the finals of the reality show. Pena is undefeated when competing on “Fight Night” cards, holding 2-0-0 in those previous appearances.
UFC Fight Night Columbus takes place on Saturday, March 28 from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio with Francis Ngannou and Jairzinho Rozenstruik headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
