A welterweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 215 according to Ariel Helwani of ESPN as Austin Vanderford is going to be in action against Cody Jones.
Vanderford (6-0-0) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this bout and does so with an undefeated streak that has lasted almost two years. Vanderford did compete on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 13, defeating Angelo Trevino by second round submission. Vanderford is the husband of UFC star Paige VanZant, who was last seen in action on the main card of UFC Fight Night Brooklyn.
Jones (4-2-0) is also going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a two fight winning streak. Jones is also going to be returning to action for the first time in over a year, as his last bout took place in January of 2018. Jones has competed six times as a professional MMA fighter and only two of his bouts went the distance.
Bellator 215 takes place on Friday, February 15 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Matt Mitrione and Sergei Kharitonov headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
