Bellator 244 did not attract too many viewers.

Bellator 244 took place this past Friday Night. Vadim Nemkov defeated Ryan Bader by second-round TKO to win the Bellator light heavyweight title in the main event. The event may have been a historical one for the promotion, as Nemkov became the first Russian born fighter to win a light heavyweight title in a major North American MMA promotion, but it was also a bad night for the promotion because the event drew the lowest TV ratings for Bellator in 2020. The show also brought in an average of 275,000 viewers, which was the lowest viewership number for the promotion as well for 2020.

A report from MMA Fighting states that the event brought in a .09 rating, which placed them 79th out of 150 for Friday Night TV ratings. Other bouts on the main card saw Julia Budd defeat Jessy Miele, Valentin Moldavsky defeat Roy Nelson and John Salter defeat Andrew Kapel.

Up next for Bellator is Bellator 245 on Friday, September 11, which is headlined by a light heavyweight division rematch between Phil Davis and Lyoto Machida.
