MMA

A new threat is reportedly making his way to the Bellator lightweight division as the promotion has signed former UFC fighter Rustam Khabilov to a contract.

Ariel Helwani of ESPN first reported the news. Khabilov (24-4-0) has spent the last seven-plus years competing under the UFC banner, earning a record of 10-3-0 in the promotion. Those 10 wins in the UFC include Jorge Masvidal, Vinc Pichel, Yancy Medeiros, Norman Parke, Chris Wade, Desmond Green and Kajan Johnson. Khabilov has seen his last 10 professional MMA fights the distance and he has not gotten a finish in over seven years. Khabilov has competed 28 times as a professional MMA fighter and 18 of those encounters went the distance.

There is no word at this time as to when Khabilov will make his promotional debut or whom that bout will come against.
