Report: Ben Henderson Faces Saad Awad At Bellator 208

A lightweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 208 according to MMA Junkie as Ben Henderson is going to be in action against Saad Awad.

Henderson (25-8-0) has won just two of five fights under the Bellator MMA banner, with those victories coming over the duo of Roger Huerta and Patricio Pitbull. Henderson has previously challenged for the Bellator MMA Lightweight and Welterweight Championships, losing to Michael Chandler (lightweight) and Andrey Koreshkov (welterweight). Henderson is also a former UFC Lightweight Champion, defeating Frankie Edgar by decision to win the gold at UFC 144.

Awad (23-9-0) enters the contest on the strength of a four fight winning streak, having defeated JJ Ambrose, Ryan Quinn, Zach Freeman and Ryan Couture. Awad hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost two years, with that last loss coming to Brennan Ward at Bellator 163. Awad has competed in Bellator MMA for almost six years now and has picked up a total of eleven wins in the organization.

Bellator 208 takes place on Saturday, October 13 from the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York with Fedor Emelianenko and Chael Sonnen headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
