Report: BJ Penn Faces Ryan Hall At UFC 232

Former two division UFC champion BJ Penn?s quest in the UFC isn?t ending just yet according to Ariel Helwani of ESPN because he reports that Penn will fight Ryan Hall later this year on a November/December UFC card, which has now been revealed to be UFC 232. 

Penn (16-12-2) enters the contest on a five fight losing streak and he hasn?t picked up a win in almost eight years. Penn would also be returning to the lightweight division in this fight, marking the first time Penn has competed at 155 pounds since the second fight with Frankie Edgar at UFC 118. Penn is a former UFC Lightweight Champion and a former UFC Welterweight Champion, defeating Matt Hughes and Joe Stevenson to start both reigns.

Hall (6-1-0) is undefeated thus far in UFC competition, having defeated the duo of Artem Lobov and Gray Maynard. Hall was the lightweight winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 22, defeating the aforementioned Lobov to win the reality show finals. Hall is also returning to action for the first time in almost two years, with his last fight taking place on December of 2016.

UFC 232 takes place on Saturday, December 29 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Cyborg and Amanda Nunes headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
