Weaver (13-4-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a six fight winning streak. Weaver also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3, Episode 8, defeating Devin Smyth by unanimous decision. Weaver has competed a total of seventeen times as a professional MMA fighter and more than half of those bouts went the distance.

Vargas (10-3-0) is winless thus far under the UFC banner, having dropped a bout to Alex Da Silva at UFC Fight Night Uruguay. Vargas hasn’t picked up a victory in over a year, last defeating Mike De La Torre at Combate Americas: Mexico vs. The World in May of 2018. Vargas has picked up ten wins as a professional MMA fighter and six of them have come by way of KO/TKO.

UFC Fight Night Rio Rancho takes place on Saturday, February 15 from the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico with Corey Anderson and Jan Blachowicz headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
