A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Tampa according to Weaver himself as Brok Weaver is going to be in action against Thomas Gifford.
Weaver (13-4-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this encounter and the fighter does so on a six fight winning streak. Weaver competed on Dana White?s Contender Series Season 3, Episode 8, defeating Devin Smyth by unanimous decision. Weaver has competed a total of seventeen times as a professional MMA fighter and ten of those encounters went the distance.
Gifford (14-8-0-2NC) is winless thus far under the UFC banner, having dropped a bout to Roosevelt Roberts at UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale. Gifford hasn?t picked up a victory in over a year, with that last win coming at Kansas City Fighting Alliance 29 in July of 2018. Gifford has picked up fourteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and twelve of them came by way of submission.
UFC Fight Night Tampa takes place on Saturday, October 12 from the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida with Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Michelle Waterson headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
