Next months UFC Fight Night London card has taken a hit as Cezar Ferreira has withdrawn from a middleweight division bout against Tom Breese.
Ferreira announced the news via Instagram:
Hello everyone, unfortunately I won’t be able to compete in UFC London on March 16 , I injured my right knee and because of that I won’t be able to train for the next three weeks so, I won’t have enough time to prepare myself for this fight. I just want to apologize with all my fans and also my opponent, and soon I will be back stronger than ever thank you !! . @mmamasters @daniel_fvalverde @ihpfit @rachidrenato @humanetics
UFC officials are seeking a replacement opponent for Breese, who is expected to remain on the card at this time.
Breese (11-1-0) has won four of five under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Luiz Dutra Jr., Cathal Pendred, Keita Nakamura and Daniel Kelly. Breese has suffered just a single loss as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Sean Strickland at UFC 199. Breese has earned eleven wins as a professional MMA fighter and six of them came by way of submission.
UFC Fight Night London takes place on Saturday, March 16 from the 02 Arena in London, England with Darren Till and Jorge Masvidal headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
