MMA

Kamaru Usman competed in the co-main event of UFC 235, defeating Tyron Woodley by unanimous decision to win the UFC Welterweight Title.

Former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Colby Covington had been in Las Vegas all week leading into UFC 235, including heckling the fighter during the UFC 235 open workouts. Then, after Usman captured the gold at UFC 235, a brief verbal confrontation would take place between the two as Usman was exiting the Octagon.

Things between the two fighters would get worse the day after UFC 235 as a report from TMZ Sports is stating that the champion and the former champ got physical at a casino in Las Vegas. Usman and Covington weren’t the only two getting physical at the A.Y.C.E. buffet in Las Vegas, as Usman’s agent in Ali Abdelaziz also tried getting physical with Covington.

Security would break everything up before the situation could’ve gotten worse and everybody involved was escorted from the building, no police were called to the scene as well according to the report.

Covington has been named as the first challenger for the new UFC Welterweight Champion, but no date has been set yet for the grudge match. There has been no comment from the UFC, Usman or Covington on the matter.
