A featherweight division attraction has been added to UFC 227 according to Nolan King of MMA Today as #5 Cub Swanson is in action against #9 Renato Moicano.
Swanson (25-9-0) enters the contest while riding a two fight losing streak, having dropped bouts to the duo of Frankie Edgar and Brian Ortega. Swanson hasn’t picked up a victory in well over a year, with that last win coming over Artem Lobov at UFC Fight Night 108. Swanson has suffered a total of five losses in his UFC tenure, with those defeats coming to fighters who have either held or challenged for UFC gold.
Moicano (12-1-1) has won four of five under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Tom Niinimaki, Zubaira Tukhugov, Jeremy Stephens and Calvin Kattar. Moicano has picked up all of his wins in the UFC via decision and it has been almost four years since the fighter got a victory via some form of finish. Moicano is a longtime veteran of the Jungle Fight promotion, winning eight of eight bouts in the organization.
