A lightweight division bout has been added to the upcoming UFC 228 card according to Marcel Dorff of MMA DNA as Diego Sanchez faces Craig White.
Sanchez (27-11-0) has won just one of his last four under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Marcin Held at UFC Fight Night 98. Sanchez hasn’t picked up a victory in almost two years, with the aforementioned win over Held taking place in November of 2016. Sanchez was the middleweight winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 1, defeating Kenny Florian in the finals of the reality show.
White (14-8-0) is currently winless in UFC competition, with that loss coming to Neil Magny at UFC Fight Night Liverpool. White is also going to be making his UFC Lightweight Division debut in this bout, as the fight against Magny took place at welterweight. White has competed a total of twenty two times as a professional MMA fighter and only one of those bouts went the distance.
UFC 228 takes place on Saturday, September 8 from the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas with Tyron Woodley and Darren Till headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
