A bantamweight division attraction has been added to UFC 247 as Domingo Pilarte is in action against Journey Newson.
ESPN first reported the bout, who’s placement on the card isn’t known at the moment.
Pilarte (8-2-0) is winless thus far under the UFC banner, having dropped a bout to Felipe Dias Colares at UFC Fight Night San Antonio. Pilarte also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 13, defeating Vince Morales by second round submission. Pilarte has picked up eight wins as a professional MMA fighter and half of them came by way of submission.
Newson (8-2-0) is also winless thus far in UFC competition, dropping a bout to Ricardo Ramos at UFC Fight Night Minneapolis. Newson has suffered two losses as a professional MMA fighter and both losses came to current UFC fighters. Newson has competed ten times as a professional MMA fighter and four of those bouts went the distance.
