Cerrone (34-11-0-1NC) is returning to the lightweight division for the first time in over three years, with his last appearance coming at UFC on Fox 17 in December of 2015. Cerrone has previously challenged for the UFC Lightweight Title, losing to then champion Rafael Dos Anjos at the aforementioned UFC On Fox 17 card.
