Report: Edmen Shahbazyan vs. Derek Brunson Moved From UFC 248 To UFC Fight Night Portland

A middleweight division attraction between #8 Derek Brunson and #9 Edmen Shahbazyan has been moved from UFC 248 to UFC Fight Night Portland.

MMA Fighting first reported the news, but a reason for the fight being moved hasn?t been revealed at this time.

Brunson (20-7-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Elias Theodorou and Ian Heinisch. Brunson hasn?t suffered a defeat in well over a year, with that last loss coming to Israel Adesanya at UFC 230. Brunson has picked up twenty wins as a professional MMA fighter and eleven of them came by way of KO/TKO.

Shahbazyan (11-0-0) has already picked up four wins under the UFC banner, having defeated Darren Stewart, Charles Byrd, Jack Marshman and Brad Tavares. Shahbazyan also competed on Dana White?s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 13, defeating Antonio Jones by first round TKO. Shahbazyan has picked up eleven wins as a professional MMA fighter and ten of them came via first round finish.

UFC Fight Night Portland takes place on Saturday, April 11 from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon with Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
