Report: Elias Theodorou vs. Antonio Carlos Jr. Re-Booked For UFC 231

Antonio Carlos Jr. was recently removed from the UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo card due to injury, but a report from MMA Brasil is stating that the UFC has decided to reschedule his fight with Carlos Jr. for UFC 231.

Carlos Jr (10-2-0) enters the contest on the strength of a five fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in over two years. Carlos Jr has seen four of his last five wins come by way of submission, while the fighter has picked up eight career victories by submission. Carlos Jr also competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter Brazil 3, defeating Vitor Miranda in the finals by unanimous decision.

Theodorou (15-2-0) enters the contest while riding a two bout winning streak, having defeated the duo of Daniel Kelly and Trevor Smith. Theodorou has six his last six bouts go the distance and it has been over three years since the fighter got a finish. Theodorou was the winner of the UFC UItimate Fighter Nations, defeating Sheldon Westcott in the finals of the reality show.
