A lightweight division bout could be in the works for UFC 223 as reported by Farah Hannoun as Evan Dunham may be fighting Mairbek Taisumov.
Dunham (18-6-1) has won four of his last five under the UFC banner, but is coming off of a draw against Beneil Dariush at UFC 216. Dunham hasn’t suffered a defeat in over three years and that last loss came to Edson Barboza at UFC Fight Night 45. Dunham has earned his last four wins by way of decision and it has been over six years since the fight earned a victory via finish.
Taisumov (26-5-0) comes into the contest having won his last five bouts, with all five of those wins coming by way of KO/TKO. Taisumov has only suffered a single defeat in the UFC and that came to Michel Prazeres at UFC Fight Night 38. Taisumov would be competing on a pay-per-view for the first time in his UFC tenure, which has lasted over four years now.
UFC 223 takes place on Saturday, April 7 from a location to be announced with a main event to be announced. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
