Report: Four Fights Added To Rizin 18, Jarred Brooks In Action


A four pack of fights have been added to Rizin 18 according to MMA Fighting as Rizin Super Atomweight Champion Ayaka Hamasaki faces Suwanan Boonsorn in a non-title bout, Jarred Brooks faces Haruo Ochi, Justin Scoggins faces Kazuma Sone and Victor Henry faces Trent Girdham.

Hamasaki (18-2-0) enters the contest on the strength of a four fight winning streak, last defeating Invicta FC Atomweight Champion Jinh Yu Frey at Rizin 16. Boonsorn (3-1-0) will make her Rizin debut in this bout, with none of the fighter’s professional MMA bouts going past the second round.

Brooks (14-2-0) is going to be making his Rizin debut in this bout, but did win two of four while competing in the UFC. Ochi (19-7-2) is undefeated thus far in Rizin competition, having defeated Mitsuhisa Sunabe by third round knockout at Rizin 13.

Scoggins (11-6-0) enters the contest on a four fight losing streak and he hasn’t won a bout in over three years. Sone (23-18-1) enters the contest while riding a three fight losing streak and he hasn’t earned a victory in almost two years.

Henry (18-4-0) is going to be making his Rizin debut in this encounter and does so while on a six fight winning streak. Girdham (8-2-0) will make his Rizin debut in this bout as well and returns to action after a year-plus layoff.

Rizin 18 takes place on Sunday, August 18 from the Dolphins Arena in Nagoya, Japan with Kyoji Horiguchi and Kai Asakura headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on Fite TV.
