Report: Frankie Edgar vs. Chan Sung Jung Headlines UFC Fight Night Denver

Despite initially being announced for UFC 229, a featherweight division bout is headlining UFC Fight Night Denver according to Chris Taylor of BJPenn.com as #3 Frankie Edgar is in action against #8 Chan Sung Jung.

Edgar (23-6-1) has won three of his last four under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Jeremy Stephens, Yair Rodriguez and Cub Swanson. Edgar is also a former UFC Lightweight Champion, defeating BJ Penn by decision at UFC 112 to claim the gold. Edgar has also challenged for the UFC Featherweight Title on two occasions, losing to former champion Jose Aldo both times at UFC 156 and UFC 200.

Jung (14-4-0) has only competed just once in the last four-plus years, which was a win over Dennis Bermudez at UFC Fight Night 104. Jung has previously challenged for the UFC Featherweight Title as well, also losing to then champion Jose Aldo, but his loss came at UFC 163. Jung is also going to be fighting in a three round bout in the UFC for the first time since UFC 140 in December of 2011.

UFC 229 takes place on Saturday, November 10 from the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado with Frankie Edgar and Chan Sung Jung headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
