Report: Frankie Saenz Replaces Thomas Almeida At UFC 235

Thomas Almeida has suffered an injury and has been pulled from UFC 235 according to Ariel Helwani of ESPN, replacing him against Marlon Vera is going to be Frankie Saenz.

Vera (12-5-1) enters the contest on the strength of a two fight winning streak, having defeated the duo of Wuliji Buren and Guido Cannetti. Vera hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost a year, with that last loss coming against Douglas Silva De Andrade at UFC Fight Night Belem. Vera has suffered five defeats as a professional MMA fighter and each of them have come by way of decision.

Saenz (13-5-0) enters the bout while in the midst of a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Merab Dvalishvili and Enrique Briones. Saenz has seen his last three bouts go the distance and it has been over four years since the fighter got a finish. Saenz has seen ten of his professional MMA bouts go the distance and the competitor has won eight of those encounters.
