Report: Gabriel Green Steps In At UFC Fight Night: Woodley vs. Burns

Daniel Rodriguez needed a new opponent for UFC Fight Night: Woodley vs. Burns after the withdrawal of Kevin Holland and now he has one because Gabriel Green has accepted a short notice opportunity.

MMA Junkie first reported the news and the bout is expected to remain a part of the main card.

Rodriguez (11-1-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, having defeated Tim Means by second round submission at UFC Fight Night Rio Rancho. Rodriguez competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3, Episode 6, defeating Rico Farrington by unanimous decision. Rodriguez has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter, which came to Victor Reyna at Combate Americas 19 in December of 2017.

Green (9-2-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on a six fight winning streak. Green won two of three in Bellator MMA, with those wins coming over Alex Trinidad and Chris Padilla. Green has competed eleven times as a professional MMA fighter and none of his bouts went the distance. 

UFC Fight Night: Woodley vs. Burns takes place on Saturday, May 30 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Tyron Woodley and Gilbert Burns headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
