Georges St-Pierre is apparently close to a contract with the UFC.
MMAfighting.com reported they have confirmed with multiple sources St-Pierre is close to a contract with multiple fights after agreeing to terms with the company. The sources also said he is targeted to return in late 2017.
It has been over three years since St-Pierre fought. His last fight was in November of 2013 when he had a controversial decision victory over Johny Hendricks. In the post-fight interview, he said he did not know if he would ever fight again. Since then St-Pierre has been involved with a fighter's association and claimed to be a free agent at one time.
Recently, his name came up in a conversation with Anderson Silva, he has also been tied to fights with Robbie Lawler and Michael Bisping. No word has been given on weight class or opponent for St-Pierre's return. When he was active he was a pay-per-view draw for UFC.
