A light heavyweight division affair has been added to UFC Fight Night Hamburg according to Kimura as #3 Glover Teixeira faces #4 Ilir Latifi.
Teixeira (27-6-0) has rotated wins and losses in his last five UFC bouts, with the latest fight being a victory over Misha Cirkunov at UFC On Fox 26. Teixeira has previously challenged for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title, losing to then champion Jon Jones at UFC 172. Teixeira has suffered a total of six losses as a professional MMA fighter, but none of those defeats came by way of submission.
Latifi (14-5-0-1NC) enters the bout on the strength of a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Ovince St. Preux and Tyson Pedro. Latifi has suffered a total of three losses under the UFC banner, with two of those coming to current Bellator MMA fighters Ryan Bader and Gegard Mousasi. Latifi also competed in just one amateur MMA fight and that was a win over fellow UFC fighter Christian Colombo in 2008.
UFC Fight Night hamburg takes place on Sunday, July 22 from the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany with Volkan Oezdemir and Mauricio Rua headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
