The co-main event of UFC Fight Night Liverpool has taken a hit according to The MMA Takeover as Gunnar Nelson has suffered an injury and has been pulled from the event, where he was supposed to fight Neil Magny.
Nelson has reportedly suffered a knee injury that is going to require surgery, it is unknown at this time just how long the fighter is going to be out of action for.
UFC officials are seeking a replacement opponent to fight Magny, who is expected to compete on the card at this time.
Magny (20-6-0) has rotated wins and losses in his previous five UFC bouts, with his last bout being a win over former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit at UFC 219. Magny has suffered a total of five defeats under the UFC banner, with four of those losses coming by KO/TKO and submission. Magny is coming off of his least active year since coming to the UFC in 2013, as the welterweight fought just twice in 2017.
UFC Fight Night Liverpool takes place on Sunday, May 27 from the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England with Darren Till and Stephen Thompson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
