Next weeks Bellator 227 card has undergone a change because a report from MMA Fighting is stating that Hugo Pereira is replacing an injured Lawrence Fitzpatrick against Kiefer Crosbie.
Crosbie (6-1-0) has won two of three bouts under the Bellator MMA banner, having defeated the duo of Orlando D?Ambrosio and Daniel Olejniczak. Crosbie has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Mike Jackson via disqualification at Bellator 224. Crosbie has competed a total of seven times as a professional MMA fighter and just one of those bouts went the distance.
Pereira (3-1-0) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this bout and is also returning to action for the first time in nearly two years. Pereira competed twice in the ShoFights promotion, defeating the duo of Paulo Junior and Salvatore Mauri. Pereira has competed four times as a professional MMA fighter and just one of those encounters went the distance.
Bellator 227 takes place on Friday, September 27 from the 3 Arena in Dublin, Ireland with Ben Henderson and Myles Jury headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs via tape delay on the Paramount Network.
